Meet Anita
Director, Board Member, and Associate Psychotherapist (She/Hers)
I am all about meeting you where you are and helping you get where you want to be. This commitment stems from a lifetime of working with children, parents, and families not only coping with having a family member on the Autistic Spectrum but thriving through it. The phrase we now use for autism and attentional issues is "Neurodiverse." I love that; it means we accept people for who they are, seeing their strengths and the lessons they have to teach us. It's not easy at times, and I get it, but it's part of our lives and can involve lots of extra help that many people are unaware of.
I am also adept at guiding clients through the disability process, which is stressful and anxiety-provoking. It can feel like you will never get through—those hoops and blocks are tall and wide. But it is entirely possible if you have someone helping who can not only keep you directed but also assist you with your stress throughout it. That's me! I am great with anxiety reduction, coping with mood episodes, and tackling the challenges life seems to throw at us.
In addition to my clinical work, I collaborate with homeless programs in Riverside and the Inland Empire, and I am well-connected to who is out there and what is available. I spend two evenings a week in programs serving our community. If you have experienced being unhoused or have a family member who is and need support managing that extra stress and fear, I am here for you. No judgment—most of us are only two paychecks away from losing housing, and the economy affects all of us. Sometimes it is hard to talk openly with friends and family about the impact of finances on our lives. It can feel embarrassing. If that's you, come see me. We can address the nuts and bolts and the emotions too.
I am a social worker, which means I provide clinical mental health care as well as work within all the systems in our community. I am a passionate advocate for my clients, and I will be for you as well.
