Meet Amy
Student Therapist
Thank you for being here and taking this vital step toward your well-being and self-discovery. My name is Amy Kim, and I am a student therapist at CCS Wellness and Education. I am a first-generation Korean American and a Master of Social Work candidate at the University of Kentucky, working toward becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) specializing in trauma-informed care. In my practice, this means recognizing the impact of trauma on mental health, prioritizing safety and trust, and supporting clients in building resilience and empowerment.
My journey into this work stems from a lifelong passion for making mental health care accessible, compassionate, and culturally responsive, especially for those navigating life’s challenges with limited support or resources. I earned my degree in Communication Studies from UCLA, where I also completed extensive coursework in psychology. Later, I became a Certified Life and Success Coach, allowing me to explore my passion for helping clients uncover their values, shift their mindsets, and build the confidence to become the person they want to be and live the life they want. I approach therapy with empathy, cultural humility, and a holistic perspective, grounded in the belief that processing our unique experiences and building a deep self-awareness are key to our healing journeys. I believe every person is whole, resourceful, and an expert on their own life. My goal is to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you feel truly seen, heard, and empowered. This is a space to explore your thoughts and feelings, identify what matters most, and take insight-based actions that align with your values. Whether we are exploring patterns, building resilience, or working toward personal goals, I will walk alongside you, meeting you where you are and supporting you in creating the life you envision.
